The Friends of Bourke Street meet regularly in one of the heritage-listed boulevard's many excellent restaurants to discuss improvements and discourage threats to the street's amenities.

The City of Sydney Council's misleadingly-named "safe cycleway" program is currently causing much local concern.

The destructive design being squeezed into Bourke Street - riddled with dangerous intersections - has been totally discredited in Europe and North America, but Council's large ratepayer-funded marketing team continues to promote it and to suppress all consideration of safer alternatives.

We invite you to join us in opposing Council's "spin".
